Over 1.7 Million Holidaymakers Leave The UK For The Sun

Its that time of year again and many UK families are leaving the UK to get some much wanted sunshine before the Schools in England and Wales go back and its also a bank holiday. It's no surprise that Spain in still the most popular choice with the Balearic Islands of Majorca, Ibiza and Menorca helping to keep Spain as number one for another year. Next in the holiday top destinations list is Turkey followed by the Greek Islands. Coming back into favour is Egypt and Tunisia which is not surprising as there have been some really good deals to these destinations. Along with a stronger exchange rate between the British pound against the Euro and terrible weather in the UK .

Despite the weather some holidaymakers are still choosing to holiday in the UK with the southern coastline attracting the most holidaymakers as well as the Channel Islands.

So expect the airports to be exceptionally busy over the holiday weekend period and allow for extra time to get to the airport and also to get through security. The last thing you want to do is miss your flight!
