Air Passenger Duty Court Case Lost

The Federation of Tour Operators have lost their legal challenge against the governments increase in Air Passenger Duty. Some holiday companies face massive bills for increased costs which they were unable to pass on to customers. Their main claim was that they were not given enough notice as the increase was introduced midway through a season where customers had booked and they could not charge this to the customer. The Federation of Tour Operators have been denied the right to appeal. The charge has been introduced to cut environmental damage from aircraft emissions.
